Author Statement

I have had a passion for writing since I was in grade school. I have always been in the mists of writing stories. Unfortunately with going to college, having a full time job, being a mother and wife there has not been time for me to fully concentrate on my writing. Now that my children are grown and my husband has passed I am hoping to be able to dive more vigorously into my writing.

Growing up in the sixties and seventies I was a huge Star Trek fan. I loved watching the original Star Trek TV shows and movies and reading Star Trek novels so I decided to write my own Star Trek novel. After starting my novel, I read a piece written by the author of some Star Trek books who advised against writing stores using the original Star Trek characters so I developed fresh new characters who I have come to be very fond of. I completed the draft of this novel entitled Beyond the Galaxy: Captivity in 2013. I asked seven people to review it and each one reported that they really enjoyed the book. They all urged me to get it published.

It became my mission to self-publish my novel. The reviewers also encouraged me to write a sequel, which I finished and published in September 2019. I am now working on the third adventure in the series and hope to publish it in 2020.

The working title for my third book is Beyond the Galaxy: Redemption and will continue the story. My goal for these novels is to create a fun adventure story in the tradition of Star Trek with realistic and memorable characters. I hope I am able to meet that goal.
